What does this mean? It means I'm a broken fuckin record when it comes to what I'm doing and what I need to do.
I exercise at least 6 days a week, like, REALLY exercise. I never leave the rec center until 8-900 calories are burned off, its not the problem (Even though I wonder if switching to a circuit training regimen will help more than strict cardio on the elliptical).
I'm even doing great with not binging on a huge meal or two a week (at least for the last month-ish). I have a feeling I need to fundamentally change my diet now. What I have obviously isn't working.
Convincing myself that I can eat whatever I want, within reason, and exersizing my ass off isn't working anymore. Here has what my diet has become:
- Breakfast: 4oz turkey, wheat bread x 2, 1 slice cheese, hummas
- 2 fruits
- Lunch: Some random assed frozen lunch (usually rice or pasta) ~350 cals
- 1 fruits
- Exersize
- Eat a bunch of bread and hummas as a snack
- Bunch of small snacks
- Reasonable dinner, maybe a burger, or 6oz grilled fish, veggies, starch (baked potato or pasta salad or something)
- Small ice cream maybe once a week
When we eat out, which is 1-2 times a week, I do well then too. I think I won't get off this plateau until I stop eating so many carbs.
I'm taking a stand, to myself right now, to stop eating shitty snacks, and stick with fruit for between meals. Convincing my wife we need to go to the "other grocery store" because they have all the delicious free samples needs to stop. I need to figure out someway to get a healthy, easiers, low-carbier lunch, that is still delicious.
Can of tuna + onion + light mayo + ???? = new lunch? maybe...

At least you are aware that a change is needed and not just throwing in the towel! Good for you on that one! May I suggest something..I am a HUGE hummus lover what about having it with vegetables instead of bread? I am sure you thought of that already but I wanted to throw it out there. My favorites used to be carrots or green peppers. I miss my hummus but alas on my diet tis not allowed!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion, to be honest, Inever thought of that! Carrots for the win, I have some in my fridge right now I'll break out tonight.
ReplyDeleteI think you are doing good, I would go easy on the bread, any bread it contain lots of salt and salt makes you retain water, also I learned if you dont drink 64 oz or more of water of day and you eat salty foods you retain water making your weight loss slow down a lot. So you want to drink lots of water throughout the day. Good luck next week
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, I do eat a lot of salt, well above the 2k mg it recommends. However, my blood pressure is low, and I drink well over a gallon of water a day, so, even if I retain water (as long as it doesn't increase), I'm not too worried aboutthe salt.
